Track passengers are existence warned of major disruption later heavy rain flooded railway lines across Wales.

Transport for Wales is urging passengers to check before they travel on Sabbatum, as the loftier winds forecast for later in the day could cause further problems.

Some Valley Line services  are currently unable to run and route transport is still being sourced.

Bethan Jelfs, from Transport for Wales, and Chris Pearce, from Network Rail, said: "Following flooding at a number of locations across Wales acquired by heavy and sustained rain falling on already saturated ground, our frontline teams are working round the clock to reopen afflicted lines as presently as possible.

"A number of lines remain closed however, and with Storm Jorge ready to bring stiff winds of upward to 75 mph on Saturday, Transport for Wales and Network Runway are urging all customers to check their journeys prior to travel and let plenty of time for their journey.

"From Sat afternoon we're expecting very stormy conditions and loftier winds that accept the potential to uproot trees and damage infrastructure, then there will be speed restrictions on sure lines on our network between 3pm and 8pm on Saturday  which may cause delays.

"With express replacement route ship available to united states of america it's inevitable that some services will be bailiwick to disruption which will consequence in delays and cancellations."

The heavy rainfall flooded the railway line between Cardiff and  Swansea on Friday.

Marches (Abergavenny to Hereford) - Fewer trains are able to run on this line and this is likely to lead to delays.

Cambrian Line (Shrewsbury to Machynlleth) - Road ship will be in operation between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth

Cardiff to Bridgend - Road send will run between Cardiff and Bridgend.

Valley Line Services

Aberdare Services will starting time and terminate at Pontypridd. No road transport in identify, Send for Wales are continuing to effort and source.

Treherbert Services will be cancelled. No road transport in place, Transport for Wales are continuing to try and source.

Rhymney Services are cancelled all day. No road transport in identify, Send for Wales are continuing to try and source.

Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog
